God’s Glory
We have recently been studying the Glory of God at TLC.
Many of us have heard that God won’t share His glory with another, but- as His Bride – we are NOT another! As the Bride of Christ – we are joined to Him. So what does the Bible really say about the Glory of God as it related to His people?
Here are a few key passages about God’s Glory for your spiritual exploration:
Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of him that raied up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 6:4 – Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the GLORY of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 8:11 - says that the SPIRIT of God raised Jesus from the dead.
Romans 6:4 – says that the GLORY of God raised Jesus from the dead.
Therefore, we can conclude that the GLORY of God = The SPIRIT of God
Psalm 85:9 – SURELY His salvation is nigh them that fear Him; that GLORY may DWELL in our land
1 Thess 2:12 – That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto His kingdom and GLORY.
2 Thess 2:14 – Whereunto he CALLED YOU by our gospel to the OBTAINING of the GLORY of our Lord Jesus Christ
John 17:22 – (Jesus said this) “And the GLORY which Thou gavest me I have given them….”
We need to get a picture of the GLORY in our world and in our lives!
2Cor 3:7 – 9 – Talks about the Old Testament Law of Sin and Death compared to the New Testament Law of Life. It says that if the Old Testament Law of Sin and Death given to Moses was glorious – HOW MUCH MORE glorious is his New Testament Law of life?!
2Cor 4:6-7 – For God, who commanded the light to shine our of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2 Cor 3:18 – But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from GLORY to GLORY, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
We have to SEE it and begin to CLAIM it to start WALKING in it.
1 Peter 1:5 – Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Num 14:21 But as TRULY as I LIVE, all the earth shall be FILLED with the GLORY of the LORD
Spend time meditating on these Scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to develop a picture of the GLORY of God in YOUR life affecting YOUR world!
